THE cream of North East musical talent is taking to the stage this month as The Hoppings returns to Tyneside.

Europe’s biggest travelling fair will be at the Town Moor from 20 to 29 June.

And this year, along with more than 400 rides and attractions, it is once again showcasing the best regional performers, at the Live Lounge.

Sited in the Hoppings Village, the Live Lounge will feature performances from some of the region’s most established and rising music stars.

And a changing, daily programme of entertainment will include sets from vocalists and musicians covering every genre from rock and country to soul and pop.

Among the performers are singers Jo McGarry and Sam Rea, along with Charlotte Forman, singer songwriter Stevie Stoker and Dave Ridley, who will perform songs from the 60s to the present.

High energy rock covers band The Trading Hearts will be raising the roof with hits from some of music’s biggest stars and award-winning line dancing singer Trey Jackson will be performing country classics.

Also taking to the stage will be guitarist James Hedley who recently wowed audiences with his performance in The Sunderland Story at the city’s Empire Theatre.

Britain’s Got Talent’s Jamie Lee Harrison will also be making an appearance along with singer guitarist David Stoker, Terry Gorman, Ivan Bullough, Matt Besford, musician and vocalist Andrew Usher, Connor Pattison, Kimberley Heron and Molly Mackay.

The Village will also be home to the Hoppings’ ever popular Feast Street, showcasing some of the finest street food outlets in the region.

And Ryan Crow of Crow Events which organises The Hoppings said Live Lounge is the perfect addition to the line-up of family entertainment and fun to be had at the event.

“Our aim is always to bring the best of everything to the Hoppings in return for the loyalty, love and tremendous welcome that the North East always gives us.

“What better way to do that than by providing a stage for some of the region’s finest performers? I know the thousands of people who will visit the Hoppings this month will get behind their home-grown talent and help make this our best visit yet.”

There is still an opportunity for performers who would like to showcase their skills to appear at the event and anyone interested should send their details to kris@crowevents.com
