Pavilion Court care home has spread plenty of festive joy on Tyneside after hosting a ‘Winter Wonderland’ for the community.
The home, which is operated by Akari Care and based in Cowgate, Newcastle, welcomed the public and residents’ family members to the event, which included live entertainment and festive activities.
A total of £374 was raised on the day, with all proceeds going towards the Residents’ Comfort Fund, to allow for extra treats for residents.
Visitors were also given tours of the facilities, which have undergone a complete refurbishment, as part of Akari Care’s £15m investment programme in its homes throughout the UK.
The celebration coincided with the appointment of Deborah Douglas, who possesses more than 10 years’ care home management experience, as the new home manager at Pavilion Court.
Deborah said: “It was great to welcome the local community to the home, which was thoroughly enjoyed by our residents. I am now settled into the role and it was great to meet some of our resident’s family members on the day.
“The home looks fantastic following continued investment and the recent refurbishment, and it was a pleasure to showcase our facilities to our guests. I would like to thank everyone who attended and made the day so special.”
Based on McKendrick Villas, Pavilion Court care home provides nursing care for up to 75 elderly residents.
