A major event to bring together different generations of Teessiders takes place during half-term week.
It is called Generation Infusion and is being held throughout the Dundas Arcade and The Live Well Centre in Dundas House on Wednesday 30 October between 10am and 4pm.
There will be around 30 free activities ranging from a Chair Salsa Dance Class and knitting and crochet workshop to sessions about upcycling and social media. There are also plenty of games to play and enjoy.
And – as it is nearly Halloween – there are going to be scary stories, expert advice on how to make the very best slime and how to cook tasty, but ghoulish treats, for your party.
The idea behind the event is for people of all ages, interests and tastes to share conversations, activities, knowledge and skills. It is being organised by Ageing Better Middlesbrough, Groundworks, Dundas Arcade and The Live Well Centre.
Anya Deputat, Age Friendly Officer at Ageing Better Middlesbrough said: “This family event is for all everybody – from grandparents and toddlers to mums, dads and students.
“It is also completely free to attend, so whether you are looking to learn new skills or just meet new people make sure you pop along and join in the fun.”
David Harris, the manager of the Dundas Indoor Market, said: “We look forward to seeing as many people as possible on Wednesday. This is a very exciting and different event and we’re really proud to be hosting it.”
The activities planned include: Halloween cooking, Vintage Baking, Chatty (Youth) Café, Creative Writing, Chair Salsa Dance Class and Scary stories in The Live Well Centre. The Boyes unit will feature Brushstrokes (painting), Creative Writing, Halloween Crafts, Pottery, Knitting and Crochet, a Slime making workshop, DIY Bookends, Clothes Upcycling, Gardening, Social Media, Coding, Gaming, Game On, Time Traveller, Camerado Public Living Room and Sign Language. In the Dundas Arcade there will be Smoothie Bikes and stalls for Grandparents Plus, nail painting and hand massage, an Xbox/PlayStation race, Virtual Reality and Interactive Books.
