Groups in Gateshead are being invited to apply for a grant of up to £5,000 for activities and schemes that bring local communities together.
The Gateshead Housing Company’s Community Fund is celebrating reaching a milestone of £500,000 in cash grants which have helped charities and community groups across Gateshead.
The fund, which is managed by the Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland, would particularly welcome applications from groups who support the health and wellbeing of the housing company’s oldest and youngest tenants, and help with issues around welfare reform, poverty, and hate crime.
Organisations can apply now for a grant of up to £5,000 (this could be in cash or to the value of in-kind work that we can offer).
Since 2007, we have invested half a million pounds in organisations that support our residents. Another £250,000 worth of ‘in-kind’ work has also been provided by us and our partners to make physical improvements to community centres and other spaces.
We have helped a wide variety of groups from health and wellbeing sessions for the Gateshead Older People’s Assembly to equipment for the young members at Gateshead Team Gym.
