Darlington Building Society has made a donation from its community fund to purchase toys for St Paulinus Primary in Guisborough.
The Society’s Guisborough branch gave £250 from its community fund which will purchase new outdoor equipment for Key Stage 1 children, aged between five and seven.
The academy intends to use the funding to buy sports equipment, including balls and skipping ropes, but also has plans to purchase toys that encourage creativity, such as pavement chalks and den making equipment.
Nicki Armstrong, Branch Manager at the Guisborough branch of Darlington Building Society, said: “We’re only too pleased to be able to make this donation to St Paulinus Primary.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing all the children playing on the play area when it is installed. Playing outside is so important for children. It’s an opportunity for them to get some fresh air and exercise.”
Rebecca Mallam, Key Stage 1 Teacher at St Paulinus, said: “We’re very grateful for the support of Darlington Building Society.
“It’s vitally important to us that the children get to spend time enjoying themselves outside and the money from the community fund will allow us to purchase some great toys for the children.
“The chalks and den making kits will give the children a chance to escape into their imaginations and be as creative as they want.”
