As part of this year’s National Customer Service Week, employees at Stagecoach North East’s Walkergate depot in Newcastle were given the red carpet treatment as a thank you for all their hard work.
During the week, Stagecoach North East employees at the Newcastle depots in Slatyford and Walkergate took part in a series of activities aimed at highlighting the importance of continuing to deliver good customer service day in, day out for passengers, with the theme ‘Rolling out the red carpet every day’ and ‘Everyday heroes’.
The local bus operator helped staff to celebrate the national campaign with a ‘Red Carpet’ morning at the Walkergate depot where refreshments and food were handed out to the depot team to reward them for their efforts.
To say thanks you to customers, breakfast events were held in Newcastle City Centre, where staff handed out healthy snacks to commuters on their way to work.
National Customer Service Week is run by the Institute of Customer Service and its aim is to raise awareness of customer service and the vital role it plays in successful business practice and the growth of the UK economy.
The most recent National Bus Satisfaction Survey by consumer watchdog Transport Focus showed that, across the North East, 9 out of 10 bus passengers were satisfied or very satisfied with their service.* In addition, Stagecoach was one of the best rated bus companies in the country by people with disabilities.*
