Coast & Country, one of the largest regeneration and housing companies in the region, has achieved ISO 9001 certification.
ISO 9001 certification requires the implementation of a robust quality management system (QMS). This ensures thatorganisations consistently provide products and services that meet the needs of their customers and other relevant stakeholders.
Coast & Country identified this as a priority within its 2013-2018 Corporate Plan and has successfully attained the standard within its target timescale. Its accreditation is to ‘provide and manage a range of services for the housing sector, including tenancy management, repairs, maintenance, independent living, community engagement, development and regeneration’.
The QMS has been built, and is controlled by, the internal Assurance team and Coast & Country selected BM Trada as its certification partner. Awareness sessions were delivered to all teams across the organisation to engage all areas of the business with the process.
BM Trada noted that ‘overall this is a very well managed company. There is clear evidence of a strong commitment from senior management….there is high enthusiasm and commitment…and a comprehensive Management System is in place.’ It also found ‘there is a very strong commitment and ethos that goes across the whole organisation where quality is key and there is a tremendous amount of keen and committed staff…this is to be highly commended.”
Iain Sim, chief executive of Coast & Country said: “This Group wide accreditation is something of which we are rightly proud.
“The initial driver was to push forward commercial growth but the focus quickly shifted to maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. This achievement underpins our core ethos of excellence in all areas of the organisation and independently verifies that we now have quality systems in place that are robust and sustainable.”
