The ‘Come Eat Together’ Gentlemen’s Breakfast in Durham is entering its second year with a Durham adventurer set to inspire as speaker at the September event.

John Robson of Fire and Ice Expeditions, a local mountaineer, adventurer and charity fundraiser, will speak at the next breakfast event on Wednesday 21st September at 9.30am.  The monthly breakfasts are organised for men aged 50 or over to come together and enjoy not only fascinating speakers but also great company and a hearty breakfast.  For £3.50, gents enjoy a Café Cenno cooked breakfast with toast, and tea or coffee.

Colin Wilkes, Managing Director of Durham Markets, commented: “The real success of these Gentlemen’s breakfasts over the last year is that people look forward to coming along, and enjoy the whole experience.

“We fully expect to be impressed by John Robson’s tales, though are not sure we’ll be following his example.  The breakfasts have attracted some impressive speakers, some well-known and some less well-known, but all with unique life experiences and fascinating stories to share.  The combination of engaging speakers, great food and genuine company have made these breakfast events a real hit.”

The Gentlemen’s Breakfasts are organised by Age UK County Durham, as part of their Come Eat Together campaign, together with Café Cenno and Durham Markets.  They take place on the third Wednesday of each month.  Places should be reserved by calling Age UK County Durham on 0191 374 6577 or by emailing cet@ageukcountydurham.org.uk .
