Durham Landlord offers Community Groups the chance to ‘grab-a-grant’

Screen Shot 2015-08-27 at 16.11.28Durham City Homes has launched a new community grant scheme offering Community Groups and Primary Schools the opportunity to bid for a grant of up to £500.

The “Grab-a-Grant” Scheme is designed to help Community Groups and Primary Schools working in the Durham City Homes area apply for funding for a project or activity that’s beneficial to the tenants of Durham City Homes.

Of particular interest to the Grants Panel are projects that are designed to help improve the local environment and could include; planting, community gardens or community food schemes.

Rachel Edmunds, Head of Service Improvement said, “Durham City Homes is really pleased to launch its’ first community grants scheme.

“As an organisation we want to help local Community Groups and Primary Schools to develop projects and activities in the communities we work in that not only benefit those communities but also have a lasting impact by improving the local environment.”
