Students from universities and colleges across the north east are invited to start the academic year in style with exclusive shopping events at the region’s biggest shopping centres.
intu Metrocentre and intu Eldon Square will both be laying on evenings of exclusive discounts, free giveaways, exciting competitions and live entertainment at their annual student nights which have become a firm favourite on the student social calendar.
intu Metrocentre’s student night is taking place on Wednesday 27 September from 3pm until 9pm, where student shoppers can take advantage of discounts from over 60 retailers including the chance to snap up stylish bargains at River Island, schuh, New Look Men and Oasis.
It’s not just fashion retailers who have enticing offers – many restaurants will have amazing deals running for students including Barburrito where students can bag a burrito for just £1.
Goodie bags will be given away in The Village to the first 3000 students who flash their wristband while elsewhere in the centre shoppers will be treated to a funky mix of Capital North East’s hottest music. For fans of Love Island, the hit reality show’s local star Alex Beattie will be hosting a meet and greet from 6pm – 8pm.
The shopping extravaganza continues over at intu Eldon Square’s student night on Tuesday 3 October where, from 4pm until 9pm, offers from over 70 of the shopping centre’s top retailers will be tempting students to revamp their wardrobes with the hottest new season styles.
As well as one-day-only discounts at Levis and All Saints, guaranteed to keep keen fashionistas happy, tasty deals at restaurants including Bella Italia and Giraffe will keep students’ energy levels up in between shopping sprees.
Glow in the dark stilt walkers will be welcoming students to the centre while inside intu Eldon Square comedy break dancers will be busting some moves and Spanish infused acoustic band Los Capitanes will add an exotic soundtrack to the night.
Students can snap a selfie with a Keith Lemon lookalike with Metro Radio, indulge in free beauty makeovers, play fun games to win on the spot prizes with Greggs and add some sparkle to their evening with free glitter face painting.
