Easter is approaching fast and that means only one thing. Tidy up the garden and out buildings to give your property a fresh feel. So roll up your sleeves and get prepared to your hands dirty. We delve into the top things that you can do to make your garden to stand out.

Cut Back

Cut the garden back and remove anything old and unwanted to garden waste. A decent lawnmower should do the trick for the lawn but shears may be required to scythe down overgrown trees and bushes. Anything that is still brown should be cut back and removed. In the warmth and sunlight of the coming months, anything you cut down will grow back rapidly.

Plant new for the summer ahead

Think about what you want to achieve in the garden and plan when your bulbs will spring to life. A lot of plants will sprout at different times of the year and they need the proper care and attention to be at their best for the summer months.

Grow your own

Over the last few years there has been an increase in the demand for grow your own products, such as fruit and veg. When it comes to growing your own there are a lot of products that you can grow from scratch in your back garden.

Plants like strawberries are very robust and can die and come back with very little maintenance. These plants are great for gardeners that don’t have a lot of time on their hands. They can easily be forgotten about and recovered further along down the line. You can just leave and pick up when you have more time.

On the other hand you have plants like tomatoes that need a lot more love and care as they require constant maintenance. If you do not care for tomatoes consistently and readily, they will die quickly. However if you tend to them regularly over the course of the year you will be rewarded with very nice tasting tomatoes.

Weeding of Paving Stones and Stepping stones

A great looking garden can only be achieved by working hard at keeping your paving stones looking as new as they were when they were first put in place. Gleaming clean paving stones can be attained using jet washes and eco-friendly chemicals.

Rejuvenating your lawn

As both the cost and quality of getting an artificial grass lawn are becoming more and more favourable, more and more UK homeowners are making the switch from natural grass. It is easily one of the best ways to spruce up your property. If you are considering making the move, you can request free artificial grass samples from Lawrence Lawns.

Most Importantly Be Safe and Have Fun

Don’t forget to enjoy yourself when gardening as this can be very peaceful and reduce stress levels. There are a number of studies that show that gardening is a great way of leaving behind any work or personal troubles.

Finally be safe and happy gardening!
