The City Council are having to close ‘lane two’ of the Central Motorway in Newcastle with immediate effect to deliver some urgent repairs to the central reservation.
The work will take approximately two days to complete and the lane will be closed in both directions.
The essential work to the damaged wire ropes and poles is necessary after an accident in the early hours of Thursday morning involving an overturned lorry between the Great North Road and Cow Hill junctions.
The City Council apologise for any disruption this may make to people’s journeys but the work is being done to ensure public safety.
Updates will be made on the Council’s social media outlets @NewcastleCC.
