A LEADING North East care provider has announced the launch of a new recruitment and staff development programme.

Prestwick Care Group, which operates residential and specialist care services across the region, is looking to fill more than 50 positions across all elements of care, from senior carers to nurses.

Where needed, they will welcome sponsored workers from overseas who are living legally in the UK but have been displaced because their original sponsor may have lost their license.

In addition to the recruitment campaign, the Group also plans to expand staff training programmes and leadership development for its existing workforce across its entire portfolio.

Key aspects of the team development programme include:

•           Enhanced training pathways for carers, nurses, and support staff, with a focus on dementia care, mental health, and wellbeing. This will include updated Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) training structures and guidance, to develop suitable staff from carers to qualified nurses.

•           Leadership development initiatives to support aspiring and existing home managers and clinical leads.

•           New recruitment campaigns across the region to bring in passionate individuals who share the Group’s values of compassion, integrity and excellence, including, where needed, sponsored workers and displaced staff from other organisations.

•           Employee wellbeing and retention schemes, including updated employee support, with a focus on mental health support.

Prestwick Care Group achieves consistently high ratings from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in residential and nursing care.

And these initiatives are the latest in a series of strategic improvements as the Group continues to grow sustainably and with a clear focus on care quality.

Along with the enhancing the quality of care and strengthening its commitment to residents, families, and local communities, they reflect the organisation’s dedication to delivering person-centred care and ensuring every resident lives with dignity, purpose and connection.

“Investing in our people is the most powerful way we can improve the lives of those we care for,” said Bunty Malhotra, CEO of Prestwick Care Group.

“Our team members are the heart of what we do, and this new phase of development reflects our belief in their potential and our promise to the residents we serve.

“I am especially excited about our existing loyal workforce who have been working on our previous training programmes and can now develop their careers further.”
