Sixth Form Centre prepares to open its doors to region’s youngsters

Prospective pupils are being invited to come and find out about post-16 opportunities at a North Tyneside School.

Kings Priory School in Tynemouth will host three Sixth Form Information Evenings in February offering an opportunity for Year 11 students from across the region to come and find out exactly what the Sixth Form at the Kings Priory School has to offer.

The dates for the evenings are: Thursday 9 February 2017, Wednesday 15 February 2017 and Tuesday 28 February 2017.

They will all take place from 6pm until 7pm in the academy’s Sixth Form Centre, which opened last year, on Huntington Place. The yard just off Allendale Place will be open for parking.

There will be an opportunity to find out more about the application process, speak informally to curriculum staff about specific subjects and a chance to tour some of the Sixth Form facilities.

This summer Kings Priory School had a 99% A*-E success rate and saw almost a third of grades received by pupils as either A* or A, with over 70% attaining A*-C. Over 70% of pupils also celebrated by accepting their first choice university offer.

The school are currently accepting applications for Sixth Form for September 2017.

The deadline for applications is w/c Monday 27 February 2017.

After this date applicants will be invited to attend an informal interview on the morning of Saturday 11 March 2017 with a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Conditional offers will be made before the Easter holidays.
