Bedale is busy preparing for its ‘Summer Spruce Up’.

Following the success of Bedale’s first spring clean in March, residents, local businesses and organisations are all encouraged to join forces on Sunday 11 June, to sweep in a smart new look for summer.

Organised by the Bedale Villages Community Forum in partnership with Hambleton District Council, Bedale Town Council and Bedale businesses with support and advice from North Yorkshire County Council, its aim is to ‘present historic Bedale at its best for the new visitor season’.

“After the praise we got from the spring clean, we are hoping that residents will come along and join us,” said David McKnight (Vibrant Market Town Project Officer for Hambleton District Council) one of the organisers.

“The visitor economy is vitally important to Bedale, and it is in everyone’s interest to work together and keep Bedale on the visitor map.”

The clean-up is taking place from 7am to 3pm and residents and businesses are asked to meet at Bedale Hall or for more information, contact David McKnight at david.mcknight@hambleton.gov.uk or call 07759 284 266.   Refreshments will be available and shifts of two hours are recommended.
