Thornaby Tots Celebrate Golden Graduation

Screen Shot 2015-07-16 at 10.57.54Yesterday, Thornaby tots turned out in golden caps and gowns to graduate at The Montessori People nursery.

The pioneering nursery welcomed parents and future teachers, at the High Flyers Children Centre in Tedder Avenue, to congratulate the three and four year old children at its annual occasion this afternoon.

Most of the tots graduating have been with The Montessori People since they were just months old, making today a very emotional and momentous day for the nursery team.

Michelle Tudor, managing director of The Montessori People, said: “We are immensely proud of this year’s graduates. They have come so far and are more than ready to continue their learning journey through to school. We wish them every success and happiness.”

This year, the children decided to design and create the graduation invitations for their parents and loved ones.

The youngest member of pre-school Maggie, aged three, has had a wonderful time at The Montessori People and said: “I love drawing and being with my friends here.”

When asked about how her graduation ceremony went today, Maggie said: “Throwing my hat was really fun.”

The Montessori People provides both creative and stimulating intellectual, artistic, and developmental experiences for all children. The team strive to cultivate each child’s natural desire to learn and to foster his/her natural curiosity and love of knowledge.

Speaking about the Montessori technique, Cheryl Kent, nursery manager at The Montessori People, said: “The children at The Montessori People nursery are treated with respect as individuals and are given the time and space they need to flourish into the bright learners that they are today.”
