- Touareg benefits from Volkswagen’s 48-hour test drive programme
- Award-winning SUV will rise to any challenge in two-day tasters
- Prices for Volkswagen’s flagship SUV start at £49,1351
Milton Keynes – Volkswagen has extended its 48-hour test drive offering to include the Touareg, giving customers the chance to put the luxurious SUV through the trials and tribulations of their daily lives for two whole days, before returning it to their local retailer.
The flagship Volkswagen SUV becomes the second model to benefit from Volkswagen’s 48-hour test drive campaign, joining the e-Golf in the programme which allows customers to trial Volkswagen’s most innovative and technology-focused models even more thoroughly than traditional, shorter test drives.
The announcement comes shortly after the Touareg was named the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s best tow-car in its largest, 1,700 kg-plus trailer weight category, proving another dimension to its considerable capabilities, and strengthening its kudos as a talented tow-car.
The Touareg starts at £49,135 in SEL trim, with the flexible 231 PS 3.0-litre V6 TDI diesel under the bonnet. A 286 PS version of the same engine is also available, as well as a 340 PS 3.0-litre V6 TFSI petrol unit. R-Line and R-Line Tech trims complete the Touareg line-up, starting at £52,6351 and £55,7351 respectively. The Touareg is the largest and most technology-focused of Volkswagen’s five-strong SUV range, sitting above the Tiguan Allspace in the brand’s model portfolio.
Brian Luckie, Touareg Product Manager at Volkswagen UK, said: “The Touareg is a car that can rise to any challenge – it’s comfortable, capacious, capable, and quick. A 48-hour test drive allows customers to find all of this out for themselves, and to get to know all of the luxuries and technology that the Touareg has to offer.
“By giving customers the opportunity to live with a Touareg for two whole days, we’re hoping they will get to bond with our flagship car. We’re confident that once the 48 hours are over and the car is returned, customers will be convinced by its skillset.”
