What Are the Real Ways To Write a Book

Many future writers believe that the hardest thing is to get a book published. However, in reality, it takes lots of efforts to pull yourself together and start writing.

It does not work if you just sit down, because books won’t write themselves. Moreover, novels are not written at a time. At the beginning, you start with one word, then a sentence, a paragraph. Lucky you are if you manage to create one chapter in one sitting. Step by step, brick by brick and before you know it, the book will be finished.

What Are the Real Ways To Write a Book

This article contains 10 basic rules on how to write a book. They are super easy and practical, you may give it a try right now.

If to think big we may divide the process into 3 stages:

  • Start: You have to begin. It seems clear but can be simply neglected. Your task is to find out what the subject of your paper is.
  • Motivation: Keep your motivation alive. Of course, you will be overwhelmed with doubts and mingled feelings during the process. However, if you predict it, it will not disturb and baffle you.
  • Finish: It matters whether you have almost written a book or finished it. The ability to accomplish a book makes you a writer.

Now we are going to look at 10 steps concerning how to write a very primary novel.

 Stage 1: Getting Started

You need to have something to write about. Put down a sentence with an argument. Try to make it more meaningful and add some details. Now that you have a paragraph try to turn in into one page. Divide your outline into a few sections. Try to look at the novel in terms of beginning, middle, and end.

  • Lay down a word aim

Try to write every day. Set the aim of a word count and try to beat it. For example, John Grisham, working as a layer and being a dad, began to write. He was that much busy but managed to carry on preparing the work. Completing a page a day during a few years turned out into a long novel. Just write regularly, whenever you feel inspired, just grab a notebook and bring it down.

  • Fix the time

It is necessary to set a time for writing. Set deadlines and try to meet them on time. If you need to rest, take a day-off. Having a timetable will make it easier and faster to end the novel. It means you don’t have to break head over finding time for a novel.

  • Writing place

Choose a place for work. It should be a location, which you enter and keep in mind your mission there. Create an atmosphere, and that is how everything is favorable and nothing can distract you.

 Stage 2: In a process

  • Set a total word count

Just as the process of creating begin, you need to have a total word count of your novel. Try to divide chapters into the same sum of words. You may follow these formulas:

10 000 words – a chapbook or white paper. Time for reading – half an hour / an hour.

20 000 words – short book or manifesto. Time for reading – one-two hours.

40 000 – 60 000 words – standard nonfiction book / novella. Time for reading – 3 to 4 hours.

60 000 – 80 000 words – long nonfiction book / standard-length novel. Time for reading – 4 to 6 hours.

80 000 words – 100 000 words – very long nonfiction book/novel.

100 000+ words – epic-length novel / academic paper / biography. Time for reading – 6 to 8 hours. The Steve Jobs biography is a great example.

  • Weekly cutoffs

Count the words you have mentioned and praise yourself for what you’ve already done. Give yourself a reward and be honest, when it comes to workload.

  • Opinion

It sometimes occurs that you are writing for a long time, and then crossing it out. Let someone have a look, express their opinions and give you advice.

Stage 3: The finishing touches

You never know when it is the end of the story. No writer does. These are the best ways to accomplish the paper:

  • Commit to shipping

Set an end to the story and finish the novel. Let the world see it. Share it with your friends, promote it in any possible ways, just do not throw it away.

  • Failure is OK

It is totally normal to feel messed up after the project. Let yourself rest and become stronger.

  • One more novel

The initial book is not the last one. Practice and improve your writing skills. Preparing another book will make you feel more invigorating.

 The Reason Of Unfinished Books

Writers sometimes face the problem of unfinished novels. The truth is that they just do not have a publishing plan to follow. Here, the writing process plays a great role. One should take into account not only their desire about what to write, but also consider what would be of interest for the audience. The ability to come up with the idea and, what is more,  making it exciting for people is major, when it comes to publishing a bestseller. The book should be not only finished but also worth being sold.
