‘Give or Take’ days are back this autumn by popular demand! Community groups in Malton and Kirkbymoorside are running events to support Ryedale District Council’s Choose2Reuse campaign.
The Quakers (Society of Friends) are hosting their ‘Give or Take’ day at the Friends Meeting House, Greengate, Malton on Sat 3rd October, 9:30am to12:30pm.
The Kirkbymoorside Environment Group event is at the Memorial Hall in Kirkbymoorside on Sun 26th October, 9am to 12 noon.
These two events will add to the total of 28 ‘Give or Take’ events since 2009!
Too much clutter at home? – it’s time to have a clear-out.
‘Give or Take’ days are fun, community waste exchange events giving the chance for people to pass on household items, such as clothing or items of furniture, or to pick up something they need.
Good re-usable items end up being discarded but could easily be re-used so the Council supports these events as they help reduce waste. ‘Give or Take’ days are ideal for people on tight household budgets. There’s a chance to pick up much needed household items and save a bit of money at the same time!
Most people have items they no longer need or use, so it’s much better to pass these on for people to re-use than simply discard them.
These are fun family events and you never know, you might find something that you have always been looking for. Everybody is welcome.
