ANOTHER growing independent business has graduated from Stockton’s Enterprise Arcade into its own premises in the town centre.
All Things Wool stocks a wide range of British wool including hand dyed yarns of different weights and colours, accessories such as knitting needles, and also offers knitting workshops.
Business owner Samantha Hill has been successfully trading as All Things Wool from Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s low-risk Enterprise Arcade on Stockton High Street since 2014. She has now expanded the business by moving into a shop of her own at 31 Dovecot Street.
Samantha originally started her business by selling wool and handknit items to friends, family and at local craft fairs before moving into the Enterprise Arcade. She said: “I’ve been in the Enterprise Arcade for a year and half and during that time I have learnt a lot with the great business support of the Council and B-Supplied.
“I started the business in a small space with just 20 balls of wool. The business has grown so much that I’ve reached a point where I am ready to move into a bigger premises and stock additional products to meet my customers’ needs. It’s fantastic.”
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Enterprise Arcade provides low cost retail space to new businesses plus a full package of business support to potential retailers.
The Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, Councillor Nigel Cooke, added: “The Enterprise Arcade is the perfect place for young businesses to test their trade in a busy environment with access to marketing, finance and budgeting advice.
“I am delighted that Samantha has expanded All Things Wool onto the High Street with the support of the Enterprise Arcade and I wish her all the best with her new shop on Dovecot Street.
