Screen Shot 2016-03-22 at 16.29.43A NORTH EAST businesswoman’s unique take on recruitment is helping her on the road to success.

Jordan Dargue, from Newton Aycliffe, set up Dargue Associates three months ago and is already working with a whole host of leading companies who like her original approach.

Jordan, 33, offers a range of services including bespoke recruitment services, business growth and talent development and has often actively discouraged clients from using her recruitment services in favour of looking at existing staff.

“Often companies look to recruit someone new when the talent they actually need exists in the company,” she said.

“My services not only include internal recruitment services but also include talent evaluation, identifying internal people and bringing talented people to the fore, which helps the company with retaining its staff.”

Jordan has worked across a range of sectors, including spending her early career in the construction and housing industry with companies including Tolent and Sunderland-based Frank Haslam Milan.

en went on to work in a recruitment to recruitment agency in Halifax before returning to the North East and working for a range of big names, including Reed and the Leighton Group.

“I believed that I could use all the experience I’d gathered to offer a 360 degree approach to business development and recruitment,” said Jordan.

“Rather than just identifying candidates and sending over CVs, I go into the company and find out about their needs and then find out if there’s anyone within the organisation who could fill the role before advertising and recruiting for the position.

“This allows me to truly understand the right match for a business, but also takes the pressure away from internal hiring managers.

“It means I’m able to develop cost effective recruitment solutions for businesses looking to recruit on a budget and wanting a personal interim internal service.”

One company Jordan has already built a successful relationship with is Newcastle-based Hive HR, where she is working as an internal recruiter.

“Recruitment decisions are absolutely critical to the success of a business.  Because we are a start-up, we have found it very difficult to find and attract the right people to work at Hive but that’s changed now that we are working with Jordan,” said John Ryder of Hive HR.

“Dargue Associates look after the whole recruitment process for Hive – advertising, screening, interviewing and support with the selection through to contracts. It means that I can concentrate on growing the business and I now have the confidence that we’ll always continue to make really good hiring decisions.”

Jordan has worked across a range of sectors including software, construction, marketing and creative, retail, veterinary and investment organisations.

“Many companies don’t have HR departments or if they do, they are often bogged down with the administrative tasks or having to be reactive,” she said.

“I truly feel I’ve found a real niche in the market and I’m able to deliver a full comprehensive service, a service which I’m passionate about and have developed a knowledge for throughout my working career.”
